How Long Window Tint Takes to Cure

The short answer
A full car takes about two to three hours to install and you drive it away the same day. Curing is separate: the adhesive needs roughly two to three days in Texas summer heat, longer in winter, before you roll the windows down. Haze, small water pockets and a slightly cloudy look in the first few days are normal and clear on their own as the moisture works out.

Install time vs cure time#
These get confused constantly. Install is how long the car is with us — usually a morning. Cure is how long the adhesive takes to fully bond after you leave, and it happens on your driveway, not in our bay.
- 01Drop off in the morning. Most full cars take 2–3 hours.
- 02Drive away the same day. Out by 5:30 at the latest.
- 03Leave the windows up for two to three days in summer, three to five in winter.
- 04Expect some haze and small water pockets. They clear as the moisture evaporates through the film.
Why Texas summer helps#
Heat speeds curing. A car tinted in July in Georgetown and parked in the sun cures faster than the same car tinted in January. That's the one time the Texas summer is doing you a favour — park it outside for a couple of days and let it work.
Can I wash my car after tinting?
The outside, yes, immediately — the film is on the inside. Avoid cleaning the interior glass for a couple of weeks, and when you do, use an ammonia-free cleaner. Ammonia breaks film down over time.
My tint looks cloudy. Did something go wrong?
Almost certainly not. Haze in the first few days is trapped moisture and it clears itself. If it's still there after a couple of weeks, bring it back — that's what the lifetime warranty is for.
How long does the tint itself last?
The films we install carry a lifetime warranty against bubbling, peeling, fading and purpling, backed in-house here on University Ave rather than by a mail-in manufacturer process. Dyed film — the stuff that turns purple in a few summers — is what we remove, not what we sell.
